Alex Rodriguez was oh so close to rejoining the Yankees lineup. He was expected to rejoin on Monday and debut against the Texas Rangers, which would unquestionably be one of the highlights of Rodriguez's year after missing the entire 2013 season and having the Biogenesis scandalhover over his head.

That comeback is going to have to wait. Rodiguez and the remainder of his fans suffered a disappointment when the third basemen got diagnosed with a grade 1 left quadraceps strain. It's the mildest type of strain, however, and he's expected to be out for a little over a week.

It's disappointing for the Yankees considering how third base has been a struggle for them this season, and we're sure Rodriguez was more than ready to make his comeback after how bad he's had it recently. Getting benched in the playoffs isn't the best lasting memory.
