The Angels lost against the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics, further dampening their playoff hopes. What's more? Albert Pujols aggravated his partially torn plantar fascia (a foot injury for you human anatomy non-experts). As a result, the Angels' bid for the playoffs will become slightly harder since Pujols may be out for the rest of the season; he's been placed on the disabled list.

Manager Mike Scioscia was pretty frank when he was assessing the injury, saying he expects the slugger to miss "a significant amount of time." Pujols has had ongoing foot problems throughout out his career, which is something the Angles are going to have to deal with because of that $240 million, 10-year contract.
