Slow news day in the world of sports, eh? Yeah, right. After waking up to the news about Aaron Hernandezgetting arrested at his home in Massachusetts early this morning—and then subsequently hearing about him getting released by the New England Patriots a short time later—we all waited impatiently by our televisions and Twitter accounts for additional news about the arrest to break. But the police remained mum on the subject of Hernandez all morning, and we were forced to wait until Hernandez's arraignment a short time after 2 p.m. Eastern time to learn the tight end's fate. And then, the moment of truth took place. Just seconds after walking into the Attleboro District Courthouse, Hernandez was formally charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd and held without bail.
As you might expect, all of that waiting around and anticipating made for one hell of a reaction when the news about Hernandez finally came out. Shortly after the prosecutor in the case revealed that Hernandez was being charged with murder, Twitter exploded with celebrities, media personalties, and regular folks chiming in with their thoughts on the case. And we figure that it was practically impossible for you to keep up with all of the action.
