We're not going to sit here and pretend to know all there is to know about the ATP tennis rankings. But when Rafael Nadalbeat David Ferrer yesterday to win the eighth French Open of his career, we sort of assumed he would move up in the ATP rankings. But instead, for some completely inexplicable reason, Nadal actually dropped down a spot in the ATP tennis rankings from No. 4 to No. 5. And to make matters worse, Ferrer moved up from No. 5 to No. 4. That's right. Despite losing to getting crushed by him in the French Open final, Ferrer is now ahead of Nadal in the ATP rankings, which makes absolutely no sense to, well, anyone.
As one Complex editor said, this flip-flop by Nadal and Ferrer in the rankings "makes college football look downright reasonable." WTF, guys? We're admittedly not ATP rankings experts, but how the hell does something like this happen?
