Most professional racing drivers have a pretty easy time getting to their cars. They simply walk up, get a photo or two snapped by one to four journalists with pit lane credentials who are trying to stay out of the way so that they can keep their credentials, and then get in the car.
It does not go this smoothly when the driver in question is Patrick Dempsey. When he's driving, instead of a handful of guys who are trying to stay out of the way, it's a mob of frenzied paparazzi, one of whom even looked like he was trying to get in the car during a pit stop.
