The 1976 Finals will undoubtedly always be remembered for the triple overtime Game 5, but it was certainly a highly competitive series as a whole. White was at the center of all the action for the Celtics, providing his ever-reliable scoring punch from the point guard spot while also funneling his man into the middle of the Celtics intimidating frontcourt, which that season placed all three starters on the All-Defensive First Team. His 33 points led the way for the Celtics in Game 5, and for the series he led the Celtics in points and assists per game. He also connected on 36 of his 41 free throw attempts, providing a calming influence at the charity stripe and didn't miss a foul shot until Game 4.
