41. Chauncey Billups (2004)
Team: Detroit Pistons
Opponent: Los Angeles Lakers
Result: Pistons over Lakers, 4-1
Finals stats: 21.0 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.2 SPG
Nobody really thought the Pistons were going to be able to stop Kobe, Shaq, and the rest of the Lakers in the 2004 Finals. Sure, the Lakers' foundation had started to show some cracks, but it was still a team that had won three titles and still had all its key pieces in place. The Pistons were not intimidated, though, and Billups was a huge reason why.
"Mr. Big Shot" absolutely worked Gary Payton and Derek Fisher over during the first four games, getting open time and again on pick-and-roll plays to the degree that the Lakers stuck Kobe Bryant on him in Game 5. Unfortunately for the Lakers, it didn't work; the Pistons still won the title that night anyway, with Billups' tremendous confidence setting the tone for the rest of his team.
