Earlier this week, drug agents in the Cleveland area revealed that they were investigating Indians pitcher Chris Perez for having something suspicious shipped to his home in the area. They didn't release many details, but they did say that Perez had not been charged with anything. However, that changed late yesterday.

After getting tipped off by the U.S. Postal Service to the package that had been delivered to Perez's home, the drug agents looked into it further. And they found that the package contained about one-third of a pound of marijuana. So they charged both Perez and his wife with misdemeanor drug possession. It'll likely only earn them a fine. But it obviously could impact Perez's future in Major League Baseball.

We'll have to wait and see what ends up happening with the case in the near future. In the meantime, let this be a lesson to all of the stoner athletes out there: The U.S. Postal Service is not a reliable dealer.
