Maravich had his highest scoring average in his senior year, and he scored his most in a game in his victimization of Alabama. Pistol Pete's highlights are usually a work of art, but this display against Alabama just seemed cruel. He had no chill button whatsoever. Let's also not forget Maravich put up those 69 points without the three-point line.

Bobby Lynch—the guard who was in charge of defending him—actually kept a picture of Maravich scoring over him in that game, according to a Yahoo! Sports article. The profile also states that those who defended The Pistol, "remember surrendering 40 points to Maravich and rejoicing at holding him below his average."

That's right. Not getting completely dominated by Maravich was considered a big accomplishment.
