Late last month, Adrian Peterson revealed that he is "not with" gay marriage. While answering a question about former teammate Chris Kluwe—an outspoken gay rights advocate—during a SiriusXM interview, AP said that he doesn't support it. But according to a new report, he wouldn't be bothered by having a gay teammate. However, it would make him a little bit uncomfortable at times.
"Simple things, as far as showers and things like that, you know, of course, anyone would be uncomfortable," he told the Oklahoman. "But you know, I'm a grown man. There's things that I can deal with. I'm comfortable in my own skin. I'll still high-five them. Pat them on the butt when he's doing good, and go on about my business."
Sigh. We're glad to see AP is slightly more open-minded about the idea of playing alongside a gay teammate than he is about the idea of gay marriage. But it's probably time for him to learn the words "No comment." He's going to continue to insert his name into the headlines every time he talks about gay rights, gay teammates, and anything with the word "gay" in it. So he would probably be better off staying far, far away from any discussions that involve homosexuality. Trust us, AP, it's for the best.
