25 Things the 2012-13 NBA Season Taught Us

Stars can't do it alone.

During the playoffs, we watched star after star struggle to lead their team to victory, not because of their ability, but because of the lack of help they got from their supporting cast. After Russell Westbrook went down, teams were double and triple-teaming Kevin Durant and it killed the Thunder's predictable offense. Carmelo Anthony as well. The Knicks' supporting cast drew a blank during the playoffs, leaving Melo to fend for himself. Even LeBron had a lack of help in some respects against the Indiana Pacers in the Conference Finals and during spurts of the Finals, where Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were practically no-shows. That San Antonio Spurs model of a great team is looking a lot better now.
