Sports aren't everything. Unless, of course, you look at the infographic above, which comes courtesy of Deadspin and points out the highest paid employees in all 50 states. Judging by what you see here, sports clearly are everything, because in the majority of U.S. states—including California, Florida, New York, Texas, and a whole bunch of others—the highest paid employee is either a football or basketball coach (and, in one case, a hockey coach!).
What does that say about the good old US of A? Well, we're not sure. But it definitely doesn't sit right with us. We love sports just as much as everyone else out there. But shouldn't more of these states say things like "Education Director" on them?!? Just saying...
