A school bus in Austin, Texas encountered an unexpected obstacle during yesterday's morning commute: A giant, 30 foot long sinkhole that nearly swallowed the bus.
Seven, wide-eyed youngsters and one driver were aboard when the bus plunged 4 feet into the ground, sinking the front tires deep into the pavement. Thankfully, the tykes were able to easily exit the bus and no injuries have been reported. Austin Water Utility crews are currently assessing the severity of the subterranean damage.
Obviously, this is a much better result than the Florida man who was literally eaten alive by a 100-foot-deep sinkhole.
