How much money do you spend to maintain your body every year? Even if you've got a $100 per month gym membership, a weekly massage appointment that runs you $50, and a bi-monthly GNC bill that totals a couple hundred bucks, you still don't spend anywhere close to what Bengals linebacker James Harrison spends to maintain his body. That's because the former Steelers star spends upwards of $600,000—yes, 600 thousand dollars!—every year to keep himself on the football field.

"My body is what helps me to make money," he revealed yesterday. "Whatever there is that I need to do to try and make myself better or get myself healthy, I'm going to do it. It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that I spend anywhere between $400,000 to $600,000 on body work, as far as taking care of my body, year-in and year-out."

So what does $600K get you? In Harrison's case, a team of acupuncturists, massage therapists, and homeopathic doctors willing to uproot themselves and live wherever he's living in order to make sure his body is functioning properly. It takes a toll on his bank account, for sure. But when you play a sport like football that takes such a heavy toll on your body, it's probably worth the investment.
