Last month, Dez Bryant agreed to sign an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand. Despite some of the off-the-field issues that he's endured, JB took a chance on Bryant because of what he's able to do on the field. They also had Michael Jordan himself talk to Bryant recently about being on his best behavior.
"The only thing he told me was 'stay out of trouble,'" Bryant said after Cowboys' practice yesterday. "Hearing it come from him…He is a strong voice. His opinion matters."
It most certainly does. And we sincerely hope Bryant takes MJ's words to heart moving forward. He could be the best wide receiver in the NFL…if he wants to be.
"It just adds fuel to trying to do things great at all times," Bryant added. "That's something you don't want to mess up. Now, I do pay attention to that, just because of the fact of who he is and what he is about. Everybody knows Michael Jordan is about his business, so that makes you want to be about yours."
We'll have to wait and see how MJ's advice pans out. But we think it could propel Bryant to the next level of his NFL career.
