In November, Manny Pacquiao will face Brandon Rios in Macau, China. On the heels of back-to-back losses to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez, respectively, Pacquiao is looking to get back to his winning ways and improve his overall record which currently stands at 54-5-2 with 38 knockouts. However, if Pac-Man does suffer another loss, his trainer Freddie Roach thinks it's time for the 34-year-old fighter to call it quits.
“If he loses, I will tell him to retire,” Roach admitted in a conversation with ESPN. “If you lose three in a row it’s your time. He’s up there in age. I’ve got to keep a close eye on him. It’s part of my job to protect him. I will do the right thing.”
Since that devastating knockout at the hands of Marquez, many have speculated whether Pacquiao should even step back into the ring, prior to the announcement of his fight with Rios. But, if Pac-Man does lose, it may definitely time to take that next step outside of fighting and primarily focus on his political career in the Philippines.
