That concept we've seen for a few years has been axed.

Remember the Land Rover DC100 concept that was supposed to turn into a new Defender? Now think about how it's been conspicuously absent from the news for quite some time now. As it turns out, the reason for this is that Land Rover has scrapped the project.

Luckily, this doesn't mean that Land Rover isn't planning a successor to the Defender, it just means that this successor will look nothing like the unfortunate, rugged-cute concept, and won't arrive for another three years or so. Expect it to be a little more upscale and in keeping with Land Rover's current brand than the DC100 concept.
