It was given a firm year.

In what seems like an afterthought behind the launch of the holy-shit launch of the new Ecosta supercar, but is actually pretty huge news, Lamborghini announced that the Urus SUV is officially headed to production. According to EVO founder Harry Metcalfe, who was lucky enough to be at Lambo's 50th anniversary celebration, the SSUV will go into the factory in 2017.

As a refresher, speculation has the Urus with a 600hp powerplant sourced from the Bentley Continental V8 and puts it on the same platform as the Audi Q7, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, and Bentley EXP 9 Concept. Expect it to be the most outrageous out of the bunch, though.
