Jay-Z Reportedly Wants to Sign Soccer Phenom Neymar to Roc Nation Sports

Smart move, Hov.

Last year, Brazilian soccer player Neymar was named "the world's most marketable athlete" by a magazine called SportsPro. And, while we would argue that there are definitely other athletes out there who could and should be considered for that title, it's pretty clear that the 21-year-old Santos phenom has the potential to turn into a global superstar over the course of the next few years. So it should come as no surprise to hear that Jay-Z is reportedly interested in signing him to Roc Nation Sports. There's been no official word yet from Hov or anyone at RNS. But, according to a recent article in a Spanish newspaper called Sport, the Roc does have some interest in signing Neymar.

Smart move? We'd say so. Rather than trying to beg someone like LeBron James to become a part of Roc Nation Sports, Jay is reportedly pursuing young athletes like Neymar and Seth Jones who could turn into the equivalent of LBJ in their respective sports some day. And, if they pan out, that will give Roc Nation Sports a solid foundation for signing other up-and-coming athletes in the future. Smart.
