A few days ago, Sergio Garcia caused an uproar when he made an inappropriate joke regarding fried chicken towards Tiger Woods. Since that incident, Garcia has issued an apology to Woods, but European PGA Tour chief George O’Grady doesn't see what was the big deal. In an interview with Sky Sports, O'Grady said the following:

“We know the connotation in the United States. We accept all races on the European Tour; we take it very strongly. Most of Sergio’s friends are colored athletes in the United States, and he is absolutely abject in his apology and we accepted it.

Really, O'Grady? "Colored" athletes? What still racist generation are you living in, fam? Eventually, the European PGA Tour chief realized his mistake and issued an apology, saying, "I deeply regret using an inappropriate word in a live interview for Sky Sports for which I unreservedly apologize.” How about nobody else in the golf world offer up their two cents on this issue anymore? Just a thought.
