In August, Audi will begin trials of a hydrogen fuel cell A7, which sounds to us like the perfect daily driver. Since this is a fuel cell car, the hydrogen fuel will be hydrolyzed with oxygen from the air to create electricity which will power the electric motors and, as your high school physics teacher would tell you, excess heat. This heat will probably be re-captured for use either as electricity or to heat the cabin on cold days. Of course, as a hydrogen vehicle, the only exhaust byproduct is water vapor, which is certainly nicer than a gasoline powered car's cocktail of greenhouse gases and carcinogens.
Now we just have to wait and see if Audi takes this dream car to production.
