Why is this father doing this to his 4-year-old child? The kid has decided that he wants to be a Yankees fan because they're winners. But his dad, who is a Mets fan, is literally forcing the kid to pick the Mets over the Yankees. He won't let his son cheer for the Bronx Bombers, which led to lots and lots of tears yesterday.
"My 4-year-old son was highly upset I didn't let him root for the Yankees (we are all Mets fans in the family)," the dad wrote on YouTube. "Was trying to teach him a lesson on loyalty to your team and learning how to lose. It didn't go to [sic] well! LOL."
No, it most certainly did not. But why subject your son to this, dad? We have a lot of Mets fans in the Complex family (including the author of this post) and we do not cosign your teaching moment. Life as a Mets fan can be very hard. And we wouldn't wish it on anyone, let alone a 4-year-old child.
