Top MLB Prospect Jorge Soler Charged an Opponent's Dugout With a Bat During a Minor League Game Last Night

Good thing someone stopped him.

Outfielder Jorge Soler is one of the top prospects in the Chicago Cubs minor league system. But, if he continues to behave like he did last night, he won't be joining the big leagues anytime soon.

Soler was ejected from last night's Daytona Cubs Class A game against the Clearwater Threshers after he charged the Clearwater dugout with a bat in his hand at the end of the seventh inning. Soler, who was upset with Clearwater's Edgar Alonso after a play at second base that ended in the inning, looked like a man on a mission when he grabbed a bat and headed towards the Threshers dugout. But, fortunately, a few of his teammates were able to run across the diamond and stop Soler before he did any damage with the bat.

"There was really no fight," Daytona Cubs manager Dave Keller said after the game. "But because nobody was around him when he was running across the field with a bat…that makes things a little bit crazy."

Yeah, you could say that. No word on what penalties, fines, or suspensions Soler will face for his actions. But, as a result of this incident, we would be shocked to see him in a real Cubs uniform anytime soon.
