A man in Texas has claimed that he sold his 2007 Porsche Cayman S for 300 bitcoins, the now-infamous decentralized digital currency based on an open-source, peer-to-peer internet protocol.
Reporter Rob Wile of Business Insider tracked the man down to verify the claim, and he proceeded to showed him a bill of sale and all sorts of other "official looking documents."
According to Kelley Blue Book, the car is worth about $39,000 USD. The value of those 300 bitcoins might be a little harder to pin down.
We think the buyer probably made the deal of a lifetime.
