The Biggest First-Round Upsets in NBA History

6. (6) New Jersey Nets vs. (3) Philadelphia 76ers

Season: 1984
Series: Nets in five.

The Sixers boasted Moses Malone, Dr. J, and Mo Cheeks and were the defending champions, but that didn't matter because the Nets featured arguably the strongest front court in the league in Darryl Dawkins and Buck Williams. New Jersey beat Philly in a physical five-game series. With this upset, New Jersey won their first playoff game and series since becoming an NBA team.
