How much would you have to be paid to put 53 live king cobra snakes into your car? Even if they were wrapped in cloth bags and there was absolutely no chance that you'd actually have to come face-to-face with one, what would your price be? $1000? $10,000? $100,000?
Most people probably wouldn't be able to do it, regardless of the money. But, recently, a Vietnamese man agreed to transport 53 live king cobras, which are considered a delicacy in Vietnam, in exchange for—you ready for this?—$50. That's right. For 50 bucks, he agreed to load up his car up with 53 king cobras and transport them for someone who had likely captured the snakes illegally. Times must have been tough for this guy.
Unfortunately, they're going to get even tougher, because he ended up paying the ultimate price for it. A short time after he agreed to take the snakes to an unknown destination, police pulled him over, found his precious cargo, and arrested him on the spot. And, after the arrest, police removed the king cobras very, very carefully (they're one of the most venomous snakes in the world) and had them sent to a wildlife rescue center for treatment.
If that guy wasn't scared of snakes before, we bet he's scared of them now. They just landed him in a lot of trouble.
