Joe Johnson Had a Legit Reason for Postponing That Paternity Lawsuit

Can't miss playoffs, man.

What do the Brooklyn Nets need to make it to the playoffs? Some Deron Williams, a little bit of Brook Lopez, and perhaps a helping of Joe Johnson. It could be a struggle if one of the ingredients are missing, and Johnson knows that, so that paternity suit is going to have to wait.

The guard filed a suit against Shannon Beckton to be considered the legal father of their son and share custody. But those pesky NBA Playoffs conflict with the scheduled court hearings, which were between April 15 and May 5. Johnson told the judge about the situation and said that missing the court dates could violate his contract with the Nets and hurt the team's championship aspirations. The judge relented and postponed it until after the playoffs. Now, it's time to ball.
