Google's autonomous vehicles might not yet be ready for public consumption, but so far they have been remarkably free of major bugs. The latest development is a weird one, though: Google's autonomous fleet drove off over the weekend. Company engineers and programmers arrived to resume work on the project this morning only to discover that the parking lot where the fleet of Prii were kept was empty.
GPS data showed that the cars were moving in a convoy towards Las Vegas, and the company is now trying to remotely shut them down before they get into too much trouble.
