It looks like Philadelphia will be looking for a new head coach by the end of the season. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Doug Collins is resigning as head coach even though he has one year left in his contract. The Sixers have had middling success in his era, making the playoffs twice. Last year, his team became just the fifth No. 8 in NBA history to beat a No. 1 seeded opponent when it defeated the Bulls in the first round.

The Sixers are currently ninth in the East.
