Citi Bike Sold 5,000 Memberships in Less Than Two Days

It seems that New Yorker's are finally ready for a bike share program.

New York City's new bike share program, Citi Bike, recently sold its first 5,000 'Founder' memberships in less than 30 hours. City Hall put the memberships on sale on Monday and explained that members would receive a special key as a sign of  their early solidarity.

"New Yorkers are clearly ready to take advantage of the quick, convenient travel our bike-share program will provide," said Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan, in a statement. "It's a strong early sign of success."

The program is set to launch next month.
