Aston Martin Releases More Info On The Hydrogen Rapide Race Car

The 500 hp hydrogen car is getting ready for the 24 hours of Nurburgring.

When we heard that Aston Martin had designed a hydrogen powered Rapide sedan, we were ecstatic. Hydrogen is, according to many industry professionals, where the car is headed, and we're always happy to see that there will still be awesome cars in the future. The Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S (hybrid refers to the fact that it can run on multiple fuels) is now set to be the first car to complete a zero-emissions lap in "mainstream racing."

It's powered by a twin-turbo Aston Martin V12 that has been optimized to run on hydrogen, gasoline, or a mixture of the two. The four hydrogen tanks hold a total of 7.7 lbs of hydrogen stored at 5,000 psi.
