There has been a recent swell in the number of Mexicancars in development, and for some reason, they're all tiny, lightweight sportscars. Meanwhile, Lotus is threatening to make larger and more complicated cars. It's all very strange. 

This latest one is a tribute to the Renault Alpine from some of the same organizations that had a license to produce it in Mexico in the '70s. There's no word yet on what will power the Project SST-77, but we do know that it will sport a fiberglass body.
