How cool is this? Recently, a newborn child and a teenager from the remote village of Contamana in Peru needed emergency medical care. But, the village doesn't have a hospital nearby, so they needed to take a flight in the middle of the night. However, because the airstrip in Contamana doesn't have any outdoors lighting, the pilot of the plane that they were supposed to catch couldn't take off. So, about 300 residents of Contamana climbed inside their vehicles, lined the airstrip, turned their lights on as bright as they could get them, and literally helped guide the way for the pilot. And, best of all, it only took them 30 minutes to come together and do it. Pretty cool, huh?
