15. Consecutive No-Hitters
Team/Player: Johnny Vander Meer
Date: 6/11/1938 and 6/15/1938
Throwing one no-hitter is pretty incredible. To do it twice likewise requires a ton of luck and skill. Only one man, though, has accomplished this amazing feat in consecutive starts: Johnny Vander Meer. In 1938, with the league still nearly 10 years away from Jackie Robinson's debut, Vander Meer spun back-to-back no-hit performances against the Boston Bees and the Brooklyn Dodgers. While this accomplishment is truly remarkable, it happened before players like Cool Papa Bell and Josh Gibson were allowed a chance to hit against Major League pitching. Had those stars been given a chance, it seems likely they'd have been able to scratch out at least one hit.
