Team/Player: Babe Ruth
Date: 1914-1935

There's a reason Ruth was known as the Colossus of Clout (as anyone who watched The Sandlot can tell you). The guy was the original power hitter, someone who continually redefined the limits of what was possible for a home run hitter. Having set the single-season home run record four different times during his career, Ruth clubbed 714 home runs in a record that stood for 39 years. However, these accomplishments all came in a league that did not allow some of the world's best players to compete, most notably Josh Gibson aka "The Black Babe Ruth." Therefore, it's hard not to imagine how much lower his totals would have been, had African-Americans and Latinos been allowed to play against him.
