Team/Player: Babe Ruth
Date: 1914-1935

An iconic figure who was known equally for his prolific hitting abilities at the plate and consumption of hot dogs, beers and women off of it, Babe Ruth will likely always be the most famous baseball player in history. He held numerous records for decades, and this one really encapsulates just how dominant he was at the plate. Unfortunately, we'll never really know how good he truly was. The dearth of top-quality pitching meant that Ruth often beati on guys who normally would have been in the minors, or out of baseball entirely had African-Americans been allowed in MLB.
