No matter how much it looks and sounds like it's nothing more than a design exercise, the Touring Superlaggera Disco Volante isn't; you can buy this if you have tons of money and are willing to wait for Touring Superlaggera, the Italian coachbuilder, to spend six months painstakingly building the thing. Yeah, this is the production version of last year's concept.

The car is, of course, inspired by the stunning 1952 Alfa Romeo C52 Disco Volante, but it certainly eclipses the original in performance. The modern Disco Volante is built upon the Alfa Romeo 8C's platform, and is therefore powered by a 444hp Maserati V8, and will go from naught to 60mph in just 4.2 seconds
