24. Spud Webb

24. Spud Webb

Height And Sport: 5'6", Basketball
Accolades: 1986 NBA Dunk Contest Champion

Before his NBA career began with the Altlanta Hawks, Spud made noise at Midland College and turned that into a scholarship at NC State. Relatively unknown, Webb became a household name when he beat teammate Dominique Wilkins in the 1986 Slam Dunk Contest, becoming the shortest player to ever win the contest. During his first four seasons in the L, Spud averaged 15 minutes a game. But when finally given a chance to see some real action, Spud didn't disappoint. The Hawks bumped him up to around 26 minutes a game and Spud answered by averaging 11 points, six assists, and a steal and some change. Like Muggsy, he didn't have the accolades, but both players made it OK to be short in a land of giants.
