While few have actually seen the movie Glory Road, this is the game it centers around. Texas Western, sporting the first starting lineup comprised entirely of African-Americans in the history of college basketball, took on perennial all-white Kentucky in a closely-contested game. The Miners ultimately came out on top, besting the powerful Wildcats with a balanced attack that saw three of their players score 15 or more points. The game also paved the way for further integration into the sport, which still suffered from the same racial biases afflicting all American athletics at the time.
