While the indelible image from the 1982 National Championship game is freshman guard Michael Jordan announcing his arrival with the first of many clutch jumpers, it was a play that happened immediately after that which sealed the title for UNC. Since Jordan hit the shot with 13 seconds to go, Georgetown had plenty of time to set up a play to try to win the game. However, point guard Fred Brown inexplicably threw the ball to James Worthy, eventually giving the Tar Heels the win. So wherever you are, Fred Brown, know that it was thanks to you that the legend of Air Jordan began.
