The 50 Most Badass Moments in March Madness History

43. Andre Turner's Heroics, Twice

Round: Second, Sweet 16
Game: Memphis vs. UAB; Memphis vs. Boston College
Year: 1985

Nicknamed "The Little General," Memphis St. point guard Andre Turner was his team's leader on the floor. On two different occasions in the 1985 NCAA Tournament, he kept the Tigers' season alive as they reached the Final Four before ultimately falling to eventual national champion Villanova. It looked like they wouldn't get out of the second round before Turner hit a jumper to give Memphis a one-point overtime win against Alabama-Birmingham, then they looked done again before he saved them with another clutch shot in the Sweet 16 against Boston College.
