After his legendary coaching career had ended, Al McGuire vaulted back onto the national scene as a tremendous color commentator for CBS' college basketball coverage. With merely 0.8 seconds to play in a Second round battle between Georgia Tech and USC, the Yellow Jackets' James Forrest somehow managed to catch the inbounds pass and bury a game-winning three, prompting a wonderful series of nonsensical shouts from the giddy McGuire. He punctuated it by proclaiming "holy mackerel!," the first use of the phrase by anyone in decades.
