After winning the 1993 national title and bringing in heralded freshmen Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse, North Carolina was expected to repeat as national champion. Their second-round matchup against ninth-seeded Boston College was not supposed to be a problem for them. Only it was. After making a second-half comeback after trailing by eight at halftime, the Tar Heels' rally fell short as Wallace's three pointer hit the front of the iron, lifting the Eagles to an incredible and improbably victory.
