Obama Proposed a $2 Billion Investment in Vehicle Technology Research

We need it, but good luck.

In order to speed out country along to the goal of oil independence, Obama has proposed that the governement give out $2 Billion in research grants laboratories working on advanced battery technology, natural gas vehicles, and biofuels. We're disappointed that no mention of hydrogen is made, but technological progress is certainly a good thing.

The money is to come, ironically, from royalties from the government's oil and gas leases.
