Joe Flacco must have a whole soundtrack of winner anthems on constant repeat. His 2013 has consisted of becoming Super Bowl MVP, becoming the highest paid player in NFL history, and becoming the undisputed leader of the Ravens after Ray Lewis' retirement. Nike, the goddess of victory, looks up to him as the essence of winning. OK, that's an exaggeration, but no one can tell him anything.
But Flacco's confidence was high even before his success. It was so high he didn't even need those Ray Lewis motivational speeches to get inspired. Big Joe Flacco chuckles at such small talk, according to USA TODAY Sports:
"Oh, it's funny," Ravens quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco told USA TODAY Sports at a charity event Saturday. "His speeches come from the heart, but there's definitely times where I'm sitting there kind of chuckling to myself. It's all good. There's nobody that's more passionateabout what he does than that guy.
"So you just sit back and take it all in, but there's times where he says some stuff and you're like, 'Man I don't know what that meant, but I like how he said it.'"
Seriously, who hasn't thought some of those speeches were at least a little over the top?
