Last week, we named J.J. Redick our No. 2 most-hated Duke player of all time. And, truth be told, Redick very easily could have been No. 1. During his days playing for Coach K, Redick was, in his own words, "sort of a prick." But, in a recent interview with Grantland, Redick explained why he was such a prick. He said that he actually came to love all the hate he received from opposing fans.

"I think I created this persona on the court to deal with the antics of the other crowd, to kind of combat that," he said. "It's not who I was. It was never who I was. I look back on that, especially my first two years, and I probably deserved a lot of the animosity…I embraced it, for sure."

Doesn't that just make you hate him even more?
