We've obsessively covered the Alfa Romeo 4C since it debuted at Geneva two years ago, and we have been anxiously awaiting this day: the day that Alfa finally lets us know exactly what this car can do. Here are the specs, according to the people who actually know:

  • Engine: 1.75L Direct Injected Turbo-I4 with a new scavenging control system that "gets rid of any turbo lag."
  • Power: 240 horsepower
  • Torque: 258 lb-ft of torque, with 80% available from only 1,700 rpms.
  • Weight: 2,100 lbs
  • 0-60mph: 4.5 seconds
  • Top Speed: Over 155 mph
  • Lateral Grip: 1.1 Gs
  • Braking Deceleration: 1.25 Gs

Buyers of the n, available in either Carrara White or Alfa Red will also get a trip to Italy to learn how to handle their new cars under the watchful eye of a professional racing instructor. 500 launch edition cars are coming to the USA's top performing Fiat dealers. Expect the 4C to cost around $50,000 when it hits US shores.
