There's an old saying in the newspaper business that goes like this: "When a dog bites a man, that is not news…But, if a man bites a dog, that is news." And, we think that saying applies to this next story, just in the reverse order.

Unfortunately, hundreds, probably even thousands, of dogs from all across the country are the victims of car accidents every single day. So, when it happens, it doesn't make headlines. But, it's not every day that a dog jumps into a car and hits a person. That's exactly what happened in York, Pa. on Tuesday morning, though, when a dog was left unattended inside of a running car for a few minutes.

Somehow, the dog was jumping around inside the car and managed to put it into drive. And, when it did, the car started to roll towards a truck that was parked nearby, which prompted a man to step in between the car and truck to try and prevent an accident from taking place. But, he was unsuccessful and the car ended up pushing him to the ground, where he hit his head and was knocked unconscious.

Fortunately, the man only sustained a few minor injuries and was released from the hospital shortly after the accident. But now, he has to walk around knowing that he's one of the only people ever to make news for getting hit by a dog driving a car. Ouch.
