Known as "The Glove" for his tight defense and even tighter ball-handling skills, Gary Payton was one of the preeminent point guards of the 90s. Playing primarily for the Seattle Supersonics, Payton and Shawn Kemp formed one of the league's best 1-2 to punches. Payton's biggest contributions on the floor came thanks to his mastery with the ball; he could get to the rim if needed, find the open man on his team, or steal the rock seemingly whenever he wanted. In the 1996 Finals, they pushed Michael Jordan and his 72-win Bulls to six games before falling just short. While he would never get that close again with Seattle, Payton did win a ring as a role player with the 2006 Miami Heat.
