Mercedes' upcoming SLC class sports car is apparently coming along nicely, although the engineering staff wants to call it the SLR AMG, which we think would be a bit cooler as well. The car will powered at its baseline by Mercedes' 3.0L V6 that puts out 333hp, but more impressive models will come equipped with AMG's new 4.0L twin-turbo in either a 485 hp or a 585 hp guise. It should cost around $100,000 come 2015.

There, sadly, won't be gullwing doors on this one.
